I was also at the reception and met some wonderful Amy fans. My son and I were lucky enough to arrive at the hotel at the same time as Amy so we had a little chat at the reception desk and took the elevator up the the 21st floor together. The next morning we left the hotel together and she asked us what we were doing during the day and had a short conversation while we rode the elevator down to the lobby. Believe it or not when we went to get our picture taken at the reception, she remembered us and said I feel like we are old friends and asked us about our trip to Orpy Land. Like yourself, I think she is down to earth and humble. I hope to be selected again this year to the 1997 reception. Keep up the great work on this web site. A year ago in August 1996 I was channel surfing on the satellite TV and came across a video by Amy "Lead Me On", the background was Zion's National Park, which is in my home state of Utah. I was so impressed with the video/song that I said I need to try out some of her albums. I borrowed "The Collection" from a friend named Diane. I gradually fell in love with every song. The ironic thing is that Diane didn't like the album. So she basically said I could have it. Now I have 13 of the 14 CD's and 3 video's. The only one that I don't have is "The Christmas Album" in 1983. I will have to special order it. Amy is a very special person and a great example. I'm a Mormon or a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I believe our church teaches a lot of good principles, however sometimes I think we get caught up in the "game of being good". I really like the words in the song "I Have Decided": "So forget the game of being good, and your self righteous pain, cause the only good inside your heart is the good Jesus brings." I have been through a difficult divorce since June of 1996. My 3 kids were also adopted in April of 1997. Amy's songs have helped me a lot. I would like to find a woman with the same traits as Amy. Don't worry (Gary Chapman) I'm not after your wife. However, if Amy was single, of course I'd be very interested. My favorite songs are "Lead Me On", "That's What Love Is For", "Your Not Alone In This World", "Thy Word", and "Angels". It is very refreshing to hear good lyrics for once by a great singer. I listen to a lot of bands. I've gone to a lot of concerts this year such as U-2, Rush, Barry Manilow, Queensryche, John Tesh, Pat Benatar, Styx and Boston. But my favorite artist of all is Amy Grant. In fact, I'm seriously thinking of flying to Washington D.C. in November to see her concert in Landover, Maryland.
