Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning singer Amy Grant will perform a concert of her greatest hits with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse.

Ms. Grant’s break into music came unexpectedly while she was working part-time sweeping floors in a Nashville studio. A producer allowed her to use some equipment to duplicate a tape of her original songs as a gift to her family. A World Records producer heard the music and felt he had just “found it.” He played her tape over the phone for company executives and the 17-year-old Grant was signed almost immediately.

Ms. Grant’s career has since spanned a variety of musical styles. With her roots in contemporary Christian music, she has crossed over into mainstream pop and country genres.

The Amy Grant concert is part of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra’s 2005-2006 Season Special Event performances. Tickets for this performance are now on sale to all 2005-2006 season subscribers. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public in September.
