Myrrh To Release One Silent Night October 3, 2000

COMPANION BOOK TO BOW ON CCM BOOKS/HARVEST HOUSE PUBLISHERS

NASHVILLE, TN (July 26, 2000): One Silent Night, a collection of songs celebrating the birth of Christ sung by Christian music’s leading female vocalists, is set to release on Myrrh Records October 3, 2000. The album will release simultaneously with a companion book by the same title from CCM Books/Harvest House Publishers, which will feature true women’s stories of Christmas, as told to Janice Chaffee.

Produced by award-winning Monroe Jones (Mark Schultz, Third Day, Chris Rice, Ginny Owens, Salvador), and orchestrated by Carl Marsh, the One Silent Night album comprises thirteen songs that follow the birth of Christ from the prophecies of Isaiah to his birth in Bethlehem, with both traditional and original Christmas cuts. Artists contributing to the project include some of the most respected female vocalists in popular music: Amy Grant, Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer, Jaci Velasquez, Máire Brennan, Ginny Owens, Cindy Morgan, Da’dra Crawford and Nee’C Walls of Anointed, Crystal Lewis, Nicole C. Mullen, Erin O’Donnell, and Rachael Lampa.

"We had a vision to present a project on the level of Streams and My Utmost for His Highest, that would present the power of the Gospel inherent in the story of Christmas," says Jim Chaffee, vice president and general manager for Myrrh Records. "I believe that the level of talent and artistry this album holds truly captures that vision, and offers a unique celebration of the beautiful night when God gave His people a Savior."

One Silent Night features soaring arrangements of the classic Christmas hymns "O Holy Night," sung by Lewis, and "Silent Night," sung by Velasquez, as well as lush orchestrations on "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" and "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem," as performed by the renowned Irish Film Orchestra.

Also included on the album are the contemporary Christmas classics "Child of God," sung by Grant; "Rose of Bethlehem," sung by Brennan; and "Mary Did You Know," sung by O’Donnell, along with five new compositions penned specifically for the project.

Seven of the female artists appearing on the album are also featured in the One Silent Night book, along with ten other notable Christian women from various walks of life. Each shares her own unique story of how Christ has impacted her life through the incarnation of God as a baby in a manger.

"In a duet of women’s songs and stories, this project affirms the true meaning and everlasting message of Christmas," says author Janice Chaffee. "God chose to deliver a Savior to us through a simple young woman, and through the voices of women today, the message of the Savior continues to be heard."

Harvest House and Myrrh Records premiered the book and album together recently at a special event held during the CBA International Convention in New Orleans, LA, featuring appearances by Janice Chaffee and Crawford and Walls of Anointed.

Joint marketing for the book and CD will include extensive national media and print advertising campaigns through both Myrrh Records and Harvest House, as well as a national radio and publicity campaign. The album will have key placement in major retail catalogs, and will be supported by a comprehensive Christmas retail campaign through Word Distribution. Both the One Silent Night book and album will have key placement on www.onesilentnight.com, which launches September 1st, and on www.myrrh.com.
