Vince Gill and Amy Grant Wed
Vince Gill and Amy Grant exchanged nuptial vows Friday, March 10, at an outdoor ceremony in Williamson County, Tenn. The couple was able to enjoy a relaxed and private ceremony after enduring months of prying by the media. No media was present for the wedding.

The bride wore a full-length, cream-colored dress, with matching cape by designer Jane Booke. Grant reportedly shed a pair of matching ballet slippers before the ceremony, opting instead to be married barefoot. The groom wore a formal black Calvin Klein suit.

Violinist Ruth McGinnis and guitarist Tom Hemby performed hymns preceding the ceremony and "Ashokan Farewell" during the service. After Gill and Grant exchanged vows the Nashville Pipe & Drum bagpipers marched over a nearby rise playing "Highland Cathedral" and "How Great Thou Art."

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds hosted a reception at Grant's Nashville home for the more than 400 attending guests. After receiving guests, Grant and Gill hosted the first dance, dancing to Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me." The second dance paired Gill with his daughter Jenny (17), and Grant with her father, Dr. Burton Grant.

Dessert Designs provided the wedding cake, a multi-layered almond amaretto cake with white-chocolate grapes, as well as the groom's cake, a decadent chocolate cake with cascades of strawberries.

Entertainment media has had an extraordinary interest in the details pertaining to the musical couple's relationship. Grant and Gill first became friends when Vince invited Amy to appear on a Christmas special in 1993. "We got along like two peas in a pod and made no bones about it," Grant told The Tennessean in October 1999. "A lot of disparaging things were said about my very public friendship with Vince... One of the reasons that the friendship was so public was because it never occurred to me to hide it."

Gill divorced singer Janis Gill (Sweethearts Of The Rodeo) in 1997. Grant split with her entertainer husband Gary Chapman last year. Vince and Amy have maintained that their long-time friendship was not a contributing factor in their divorces.

Grant and Gill are currently on their honeymoon. There's no word on when the newlyweds will return.
