''Out'' Is In ''Out of Sight'' is named best film by the National Society of Film Critics; singer Amy Grant splits from her husband; movie box-office totals jump nearly 10 percent by Josh Wolk AWARDED: The National Society of Film Critics selected ''Out of Sight'' as the best picture this year, making it the second group to honor the film, after last month's pick by the Boston Society of critics. The George Clooney-Jennifer Lopez crime romance has also been popping up on many individual critics' 10 Best lists, including EW's Lisa Schwarzbaum, making the box-office deprived movie seem like less of a long shot come Oscar nomination time. SPLIT: Christian crooner Amy Grant has split from her husband of 16 years, Gary Chapman, host of The Nashville Network's talk show ''Prime Time Country.'' The couple has three children together. BOOMING BUSINESS: Total movie box office for 1998 hit $6.88 billion, an increase of 9.9% from last year. Admission was up 5.5%, with an estimated 1.39 billion tickets sold.
