Amy Grant and Gary Chapman split up

It has been one of the most speculated splits for years.  For the past two years rumors around Nashville and in the tabloids predicted that Amy Grant and her Prime Time Country host/husband Gary Chapman would split up. 

On Wednesday the two announced that they had separated.  The two have been married for 16 years and have three children.

Grant is well known for her Christian music and crossing over into the pop world.   Chapman has been the host of TNN's Prime Time Country since 1996.

For many years rumors have surrounded the couple regarding a relationship between Grant and Vince Gill.  Gill was divorced from his wife Janis earlier this year.
